TINY FROGS

TINY FROGS

a praying man understands poetry

as a bird understands its song

as the tiny frog chirps in rhythm

and the flying insects buzz as background

to an understanding unplanned

background rhythm to songs

poet's music praying

singing to the birds

offering a hand to insects

stepping to those rhythms

of those tiny frogs

there is only silence

when the prayer stops

to understand the poetry

and the tiny frogs

snap and catch the buzzing insect

the action

is the moment

to stop

is the silence

where poetry

becomes

prayer
