OF NOTHING

OF NOTHING

#poem #poetry #meditation #writing

there is something
of all that can be
and there are the desired

soothing, massaging, expecting
there is something
and there are the desires

covered light and the cotton of day
tan and shapely filling in the gauze
there is something.

there is something
along a curling path's center
as far as one san see

sides filling a moist carpet
there is something
there, something below

 edging the distance
the eternal above
there is something.

there is something
 in expecting desires

OF NOTHING

CORVAIR MONZA

My first cars. Bought two messed up corvair monzas for 90 bucks and spend a summer and fall in 1972 re-building them into a really hot little number.
Black leather tuck n' roll seats and quadraphonic sound system, it was an ice-blue screamer and my first love.
What was your first car?

The Chevrolet Corvair engine is a flat-six boxer piston engine that was used in the 1960s Chevrolet Corvair automobile. It was a highly unusual engine for General Motors: It was air-cooled, used a flat design, with aluminum heads (incorporating integral intake manifolds) and crankcase, with individual iron cylinder barrels.

In 1967, the Corvair line was trimmed to the 500 and Monza Hardtop Coupes and Hardtop Sedans, and the Monza Convertible. This model year was the first with a collapsible steering column. A dual circuit master cylinder with warning light, nylon reinforced brake hoses, stronger steel (instead of aluminum) door hinges, "mushroomed" instrument panel knobs and a vinyl-edged day/night mirror were all made standard equipment. Chevrolet introduced a 50,000 mi (80,000 km) engine warranty on all Chevrolet models including the Corvair. Chevrolet was still actively marketing the Corvair in 1967, including color print ads and an "I Love My Corvair" bumper sticker campaign by dealers, but production and sales continued to fall off drastically. Only 27,253 copies were built.
1967 27,253US$2,128–2,540Last year for the four-door hardtop sedan, GM Energy Absorbing steering column, dual circuit brake system, stronger door hinges introduced. New safety three-spoke steering wheel standard. Four-way hazard flashers, lane-change turn signal control, additional padding on instrument panel cover, safety control knobs introduced. 110 hp (82 kW) engine is only optional engine at introduction; eventually 140 hp (100 kW) becomes available as Central Office Production Order in limited production as COPO 9551"B". New "safety" Powerglide shift knob, shoulder belt mount points added. New style standard hub caps for 500. Chrome ring inside taillight lenses widened. New options included Speed Warning, Delco Stereo Tape system. New thin-shell "Astro-bucket" front seats with new vinyl pattern standard on Monzas.

Water Fall

Water Fall

The loneliness has made this one of stone
Sullen shale features reflected from the living icicles
There in the deep reflection a blueness appears

The loneliness has made this one of stone

Fallen eyes rest on moving glass
Filling the unseen light of memory
Allowing visions from inside the heart

Fallen eyes rest on moving glass

There, there shines the tear
For living has joys and sorrows
For life is the hope

There, there shines the tear

For in loving it is not enough just the knowing
For now in the light, in day's day glowing
For soon the night's image covering
For in life love's best when showing

This a melancholy icon of life

1as2. Al Mendoza, 2004

1as2

Your living is a whisper

that I've always wanted to hear

that I've always wanted to touch.

 The sound of your voice
a breath in
the breath I need.

This sound of touch
filling gently this gauze, this air
that surrounds and fills me.

Exposed and covered
smoke like are these
inhaled, tasted and felt.

The vibration bathes
 a bath sensed
this sound of touch.

PATIENCE AND TIME

Bountiful Blue Breeze Bundles
Perfect

Married Motion Motivate Marionettes
Attentive

Sand Strewn Silence Silvered

The attentive listening for perfection
As the sea shimmers

 Marionettes dancing to the light
Rhythms unhurried

Time has a patience

CURIOUSITY

At the edge of the fragile and the delicate

#poems #meditation #poetry #writing

Curiosity

Requirement of a modal
clear is the rainbow
and there is no requirement
to touch

Undying curiosity stretches
near enough to find
and there is no judgement
to touch

Temporary is the form
that seems so solid
and not a permanent shape
to touch

Vision in the view of the beholder
whose beauty is there and not
to touch

At the edge of the fragile and the delicate

Of the Spring and the Love

proper not peaceful
finding and looking not seen
spring warmth and the love

only spring and love

can you see you now
can you see me forever
in spring in the love

in the spring find me

the lie, the lyric and clay

"across and level" 2004 Al Mendoza

#poetry  #reading #writing #meditation #thought #thinking

the lie, the lyric and clay

LIES

i want to hear lies.
beneath it all those sweet fibs.

i'll suspend belief.
and in your words find no grief.

and with smiles have fun.
with all those tall tales you run.

tickle between my ears.
for in this world are too many tears.

----------------------------------------------------

LYRIC

i find in the heart
there is no safekeeping
when now there is no one around

i find in the soul
there is no sense in weeping
for who then would hear the sound

i find in the limbs
when full or when empty
many is pull or bound

i find a place of quiet
and warmth of company
where joy is sound

--------------------------------------------

CLAY

there

silence

and

there

listening

turning

as a potters

wheel

what

that

other

cradled

in loving hands

stands atop

before entering the kiln

for the moment

for the silence

for the touch

for the missed

contact

in kilns

for then we know

what we miss
