LOSE

LOSE

because you don’t live there anymore
you lose nothing

in the moment of creation there's change
when the music has played there’s silence
when the breeze passes there’s stillness

in the laughter
and in plain sight

while the love makers touch
creation matters not

silence is the music
stillness becomes the breeze

to play at laughter
and lose nothing

when moment is creation
there in the play is change

because you don’t live there anymore
you walk and lose nothing

WINTER SOLSTICE

Winter solstice

in the bright sunlight and the clear desert sky

with no clouds for the sky to paint

save for the water coloring on the mountains

as the sun flows across the landscape

shadowing the cactus making spots

and the leopard that runs across the sands

towards the snow peaks towards the glow

and disappears in light

a brightness running to cover

and blanket twilight with music lights

stars patient in their watch for the moon

stars moving in that slow dance

that feels like love

UNSEEN

The 2 Not 1

unseen

to believe the lies
and not see the lies that are
a conviction by convention

no longer and no shorter
than desire
that want unseen

as it presents loudly enough
the present
a conviction by belief

no longer by desire
like a coin
two sides

and an edge
flip it and catch
open and reveal

everything but the edge
that thing that cuts
loudly it presents

no longer no shorter
a lie of desire
and an unseen self

ZEN IN THE CITY

ZEN IN THE CITY

standing over a microwave
as watch over a coffeepot
the third feast all mine

a chill of fall
awaiting winter
in the warmth

clear to cold
as bright to ice
the movement underneath

in the stillness
a sigh
amazement

the steam floats
in the quiet wrap
air and water listen

sound becomes
a drone rhythm
where the music fills

instead of self
 truly hear
when silence speaks

warmth that wraps
floating like silence
in a sigh of amazement

in the clear cold and the bright ice
where there is air and water
instead of self

STEPS

STEPS

the Lord loves
doesn't command
he doesn't need to

to hear a command
to search for lie
to search for the evil one

order is not command
truth is not command
strength is not command

love is order
love is truth
love is strength

you can lie in a command
and cannot in love

in your freewill you can search
in love you find

love is the command
that you don’t have to search
that you can hear
above the noise of a lie

come to love
find strength

live in love
know truth

find the steps
and the order they fall

in not command
in a search
in love hear
how the Lord loves

a page

The page and I exchange places
an allegory of a dream
twinned mirrors
ordinal directions

coordinating a dance
as gentle as matched silks
fragrant as honeysuckle
a floating scent

rippling across the breeze
ordinal mirrors
a dream dance
a page

exchanging places
to match the silks
twinned mirrors
fragrant dreams

of ordinal directions
the allegory of a page
that exchange places
in the self

twinned mirrors

 October  Desert

the music
the rhythm
the movement
the time
there is so much of
thinking in a dream
therapy for the sleep

alive in a world
fortunate
by the Lord’s grace
in love received

sentenced
to witness only what is seen
aware
to the whole
of a part
thinking in a dream
therapy for the sleep

moving to sound
dancing with joy
walking along
as a floating breeze
in the chill of autumn
there is so much of

received movement
and fortunate
music
rhythm in the time
as love received
alive in the world
the sentence

FATIGUE

IN AN EVENING FATIGUE

a motion escapes
like an ember
red hot and smokeless
that glow fading
to red from white
the single light
before darkness

touch a be burnt
breath and relight
listening to that smoking
the evidence and an escape
and the from the ember
motion before darkness

breath and touch
and inhale the smoking evidence
of the escape
a dancing light
 a glowing touch
a glow moving
from red to white
before the darkness

evading sound
a glow
a light
an escape
a motion
an ember
the only light
smokeless
against the darkness

to touch and relight
with breath
finding evidence
that is the sound
before darkness
spread as a vision
noticed
the embers dance
