THE LOST SANITY OF PAIN

THE LOST SANITY OF PAIN

can you sharpen paper mache'
and get a paper cut
converting a doughy newsprint
to sharp edged blade
and slice though with a pinata
who's cartoon existence
awaits destruction

the lost sanity of pain
clicking the mechanical pencil
not knowing where the paper is
the insanity of pleasure

paper mache' that can't use paint
when lead is all there is
a glue for emotion
where no water color will stick
bleeding color blends away
in a pool

where does the hurt
find the paint
to wash away
the bleeding
a water color on glass
pooling

ignoring the shapes
of paper mache'
that the pencil can't write on
to find the insanity of pleasure
dripping

the lost sanity of pain
on unglued paper
doesn't pool
like water color on glass
where the hurt finds
the point

THE GIFT

THE GIFT

she left her image behind
what i found
was her likeness of me
i the mere reflection
and no longer near

tandem incomplete
reading as a gift
a single poetic
the two little books
new pictures for the mind

gentle Hafiz
damaged Kerouac
pained by the obvious
that they can touch

cupped offerings
needing pails
gentle Kerouac
damaged Hafiz
overflows

DESTROYED

DESTROYED

I LIKE WRITING WITH PEN AND PAPER

WITH MY DESTROYED HAND

NOT WITH THE OTHER SET

SO UNTRAINED

THE WORK FAILS

FIGHTING DESTRUCTION

UNTRAINED

MISSES THE POINT

WHEN EVEN THE DESTROYED

WORKS

JOY

JOY

amused by my confusion
confused by her amusement
agape wonder

too overwhelmed
to even lust
confused amazement

joy

let no amusement
go unconfused

Little Moon

virus lunare

Little Moon

minister me virus lunare

see the elephant in the moon

collecting moon drops

a moon-raker

waning

astarte

in love of Selene

a cynical Cynthia

a marganie marriage

measure me a crescent

as I cry for the moon

under the shade of Diana

in a Luna madness

Hecate insanity

night reflections

flood like waters

lights fidelity

plays with insanity

splashed by the daughters of men

waning in Phoebe's beauty

moon-rakers

collecting moon drops

in love of Mane

this morganic marriage

Embedded

EMBEDDED

Between Haifiz and
two puddles talking

and Kerouac
Three Tangier Poems

wanting sand to hide in

trapped in poetic mis-juctice

gotham graces fleet street

fleshed sword the jackals swing

beheading the decent
who fail to duck

heads up the blade will slice

burying the head
before hiding
the sand isn’t much of an option

the headless heed nothing
hiding not even available for cover

the sand is there
but it is too late

difficult to hide what isn’t there

suddenly trapped
by poetic mis-justice

not even able to hide in the sand

without a body
embedded headless

suddenly trapped
by poetic mis-justice

such mis-fortunate  madness
this poetic mis-justice

and not even able to
hide in the sand

Haiku Anomie Series

Haiku Anomie Series

1
an invoice for voice
anomie amoral
re-identify

2
a voice an invoice
no named alienation
winter's discontent

3
Janis gates of fall
a new opening door
scenes only partial

4
a voiced lien-ed nation
an in-alienation
invoiced amoral

5
anomie unknown
anxiety invoiced voice
that painful autumn

6
no pearls of wisdom
like an Adonis garden
that admiral of the red

7
tie the garters piece
golden sands of Pactolus
and paint the lily

8
sophist sophistry
sorites stitched and gathered
treed leaves of autumn

9
anomie invoice
not falling for whisper
deaf sabaism

10
cap of liberty
phrygian standard
again tale gone wrong

A. Mendoza, 2016

OCTOBER'S BALM

A MENDOZA, 2016

October's Balm

gently a sweet balm
whispering a cobalt breeze
a balm October

layered coal so still
rising shadow to autumn
touching as a whiff

as clouds become smoke
cyan fading curtain like
edging out sunlight

cotton like furling
as the water coloured sky
washes in light stokes

in airily tints

the gloss of the reflected
of evening autumn

October balm soothes
brushing a face, heart and soul
sunset breeze Tontine
